Domain Name Appraisals

Domain name appraisals are independent valuations of the approximate worth of a domain. You may find them useful if you are considering buying or selling a domain name.
  • Appraisals can be useful if selling a domain name, as they can be used to provide supporting evidence that your domain is worth the money that you're asking.

  • Appraisals can be useful if buying a domain name, kind of as a sanity check, to make sure that the price you are considering paying is reasonable.
Of course, do remember that appraisals, even though some companies attempt to formalize the appraisal process, are essentially opinions of the worth of a particular domain name.
  • If selling: just because an appraisal service says your domain name is worth $X amount, that doesn't guarantee that you will be able to find any potential buyers at that particularly price.

  • If buying: only you can truly judge how much any particular domain name is likely to be worth to you and your business.
